Funny, I always enjoy reading anything dark/morbid/depressing. Tends to have the opposite effect of putting a pep in my step - all those things add flavour and texture to life and make me appreciate being alive.

Opposite, got a lot of it. But I do err on the less sympathetic side - I don't believe in feeling sorry for ourselves or each other under most circumstances. Life is a test of our resolve.
